Visual Learner

Concept maps are visual representations of preexisting knowledge. They are a good way to display information that the students know and they especially benefit students who are visual learners because of the simplicity of the content and the way that it is delivered. I decided on the topic of flowers because at the daycare where I work, the students adore flowers and flow talking about them. I sat down a group of six students to help me brainstorm all of the information that they already knew about flowers. They had a lot of fun sharing what they knew with one another and they really enjoyed how they had a physical organizer to view everything that the students knew about flowers. I feel like this is a great activity to do with younger children because they will enjoy collaborating with their classmates and bonding over similar knowledge that they all may have on a specific topic. I used creately.com to create my organizer.
